SUGARLAND CROSSING SHOPPING CENTER.
The RDS proposed team completed the project management of the multi-million renovation of the 275,000 square foot Sugarland Crossing Shopping Center in Loudoun County. The project broke ground on the scheduled date in April, 1999, with all permits in hand, and was completed on the original scheduled re-opening date in November, 1999. Work was completed within the initial estimate and final approved cost Proforma. The contract was performed as a design/build project with L.F. Jennings, Inc. and Rounds/van Duzer Architects. The project won two local building association awards in 2000 for excellence in design and construction. The major challenge on this project was the fast delivery schedule, and the necessity of performing all construction activities in an operational shopping center. The project was completed without any tenant complaints, accidents, or significant issues. Winner of 2 ABC Awards for Best Retail Project Under 500,000 Square Feet, and for Best Renovation Under $5 Million.
