EDWARD A. MURPHY, PE
PRINCIPAL.

Realty Development Services "RDS" is a Washington, DC based real estate development, construction management, and tenant coordination group that focuses on prominent, well-located retail and mixed-use development opportunities. RDS and its principals have developed or repositioned over 23 million square feet of commercial real estate, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. Some of its more recent projects are Ashburn Farm Town Center and Sugarland Crossing in Loudoun County, VA, Cheshire Station in Prince William County, VA, Village Commons Center at Reston Town Center, expansion of White Flint Plaza in Rockville, MD and Germantown Town Center and Germantown Town Center East at Germantown, MD, developed in partnership with Chubb Insurance Corporation.

As Principal, Mr. Murphy is responsible for RDS operations of the firm's project management and construction management efforts on its commercial and retail projects. RDS delivers to its client pre-development, development, construction management, and tenant coordination services. From planning, budgeting, the entitlement/approval process to total construction management for a project, RDS acts as a single source contact for its clients at a pre-negotiated fee. While avoiding the usual burden of hiring and carrying in-house construction management personnel to coordinate and oversee the project, RDS can tailor its services to the client’s budget and schedule needs.

Mr. Murphy has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial development field and petroleum marketing operations. He has directed the pre-development, pricing, entitlement, development and construction management on more than $400 million dollars in commercial real estate and petroleum facility related projects. These projects included buildings as diverse as an urban retail entertainment project, multi -level mixed-use projects, structured parking decks, shopping centers from 100,000 to 550,000 square foot, service stations and petroleum distribution facilities. Several of the projects have been recognized by the industry, including Greenbriar Town Center in Fairfax, Virginia, winner of the 1994 ICSC National Award for Excellence. Mr. Murphy’s experience comes from nationally recognized firms such as Trammell Crow Company, Forest City Ratner Companies of New York City, Combined Properties of Washington, DC, and Exxon/Mobil Corporation.
